# Expanding and simplifying Polynomials

## Original question text:

HELP expanding and simplifying polynomials?

So basically the question is.2(2x + 1)^2 - (4x - 3)(4x + 3)the answer is:-8x2 + 8x + 11but I got:-8x2 + 11 only...how do I get that?## How can Algebrator help you with this problem?

Algebrator can easily solve problems such as the one you posted. It´s a great tool in order to rapidly complete Algebra assignments.

An example using your equation is described following the link below.

You start by copy-pasting the equation into a new worksheet. You then have to press the "Solve" button several times in order to obtain a step-by-step solution.

We can press the "Explain" button in order to obtain an explanation for the step involved.

Some Important features are:

1.Flash demos, found under the drop-down menu "Help->Tutors".

The demos are also available online at "https://softmath.com/demos/", where you may simply select any of the ".htm"

files and the demo will play within your browser

2. Wizard button - for example, click the Wizard button and look under the category of "Polynomials" to see the many useful templates for Polynomial expressions.

3. The Explain button, which provides the mathematical logic involved in the selected step.

You can see the rest of the step-by-step solution process by clicking on the "solve step" button several times.

Algebrator then expands the first term in the expression by applying the product distributive property.

Further simplification is not possible.
