A deep-sea exploring ship is pulling up a diver at the rate of 25 feet per minute. The diver is 300 feet below sea level. How deep was the diver 10 minutes ago?

t = 10 min
The distance d that the diver will pass in t = 10 min is:
d = v*t
d = 25*10
d = 250 ft
Since the diver is already 300 ft bellow and assuming he moves vertically towards the bottom we subtract 250 from 300 and get: 300 - 250 = 50 ft.
10 minutes ago the diver was 50 feet bellow sea level.
