Problema Solution
a vessel in the shape of a cuboid is 30 cm long and 25 cm wide ,how high must it be to hold 4.5 litres of water
Answer provided by our tutors
Let
h = the height of the cuboid
1 liter = 1,000 cm^3
4.5 liters = 4.5*1,000 cm^3 = 4,500 cm^3
The volume of the cuboid is:
V = 25*30*h
Since the cuboid holds 4.5 liters = 4,500 cm^3 we can write:
25*30*h = 4,500

......
h = 6 cm
The cuboid must be 6 cm high.
