This word problem is ambiguous and missing information... for example, "How many meters did each step of his cover?" is not coherent. I'm guessing perhaps that '80 steps' was used as a reference in order to mark out 62 meters, If so, then 60 steps would mark out in meters:
(60/80)*62
46.5
So marking off 46.5 meters, giving a total area:
46.5*62
2883
This would be a total area of 2883 square meters.
