Problema Solution

Drug concentration. The concentration C of a certain drug in a patient’s bloodstream hour after injection is given by C (t) = t/2t^2 +1 Find the horizontal asymptote (t). What happens to the concentration of the drug as t increases?

Answer provided by our tutors

The equation is ambiguous, we assume that "C(t)=t/(2t^2)+1", which is manipulated to a standard form "y=(2t+1)/(2t)", as shown in the inserted image, in which we replaced the functional notation, C(t), with a single variable, chosen as 'y'.  The graph shows that concentration drops quickly at first, then flattens and approaches '1'.  There is insufficient information to comment beyond that.
