Problema Solution

Half an hour after leaving her house Sarah was 35 miles from her home. At this point she merged onto the highway and travelled at a constant speed. Five hours later she was 315 miles from her house. How much further will she travel from her house if she continues to drive at the same speed for two more hours

Answer provided by our tutors

Let 'v' represent the travel speed.

First we will find the speed using the formula speed = distance/time:

v = (315 - 35)/5

v = 56 mph

After 2 more hours she will travel 2*v = 2*56 = 112 miles further.
