Problema Solution

In triangle ABC, the angle C is six times as large as angle A. Theasure of angle B is 60 degrees greater than that of angle A. Find the measure of the angles.

Answer provided by our tutors

Let

a = the measure of angle A

a + 60 = the measure of angle B

6a = the measure of angle C (the angle C is six times as large as angle A)

Since the angle A, angle B and angle C are angles in a triangle we have:

a + (a + 60) + 6a = 180

........

a = 15 degrees

a + 60 = 15 + 60 = 75 degrees

6a = 6*15 = 90 degrees

The measure of the angles are: angle A is 15 degrees, angle B is 75 degrees and angle C is 90 degrees.
