Let total area of planting and harvesting wheat be y

Total area of land = 1270 acres

x + y = 1270

Also,

Cost per acre for corn planting and harvesting = $270

Total cost for corn planting and harvesting = 270x

Cost per acre for wheat planting and harvesting = $135

Total cost for wheat planting and harvesting = 135y

Therefore according to the question

270x + 135 y = 264000

2x + y = 264000/135 = 17600/9

2x + y = 17600/9

Substitute y value from first equation

2x + (1270 - x) = 17600/9

x = 17600/9 - 1270 = 685.56

So,acres of corn planted = 685.56
