ratio of two numbers is expressed as a fraction, then simplify
ratio of 2 1/3 to 5 1/4
is (2 1/3)/(5 1/4)
= (7/3)/(21/4)
= (7/3)*(4/21)
= (1/3)*(4/3)
= 4/9 ratio of 4 to 9
ratio of length to width for a rectangle of length 30 and width 18:
30/18 = 15/9 = 5/3 ratio of 5 to 3
ratio of 7.5 to 3.25
7.5/3.25 = 2.30769 ratio of approximately 2.31 to 1
