Problema Solution

write a function rule for the volume of the cylinder shown at the right with a height 3in. more than 4 times the radious of the cylinder's base. what is the volume of the cylinder when it has a radious of 2in.?

Answer provided by our tutors

No image exists, will assume radius of the cylinder is 0,.5 in

Volume of a cylinder: V=h*PI*r^2

expressed as a function of r: V(r)=h*PI*r^2

0.5^2 = 0,25

2^2 = 4.

the volume increases by a factor of 4./0.25=16 when the radius increases from 0.5 to 2. inches
