Problema Solution

what is the probability of randomly selecting a 4 and a king in two draws from a deck of cards

Answer provided by our tutors

there are four 4's and four king in deck

in first draw  probability of randomly getting a 4 or a king is

       p1   = all possibilities of getting 4 or king/total no. of cards

              =8/52

for second draw (one 4 or king is already out, so total cards are 51)

         p2  = 4/51

overall probability   P=      p1 * p 2

                                           p=(8*4)/(52*51)

                                              =8/663

= 0.012066

As a percentage, the odds are 1.21%
