The second angle of a triangular kite is four times as large as the first. The third angle is 25 degrees more than the sum of the other two angles. find the measure of the 2nd angle.
Step 1. The sum of the angles in a triangle is equal to 180 degrees.
Step 2. Let x be the first angle, let 4x be the second angle, x+4x+65 be the third angle.
The sum of the angles is 180:
180 = x + 4x + (x + 4x + 65)
180 = 10x + 65
115 = 10x
x = 115/10 = 11.5
The first angle is 11.5 degrees,
The second angle is 11.5 * 4 = 46 degrees
The third angle is 11.5 + 46 + 65 = 122.5 degrees
