The length of a string between a kite and a point on the roof of a 10m high building is 180ms. If the string makes an angle Ө with the level ground such that tanӨ = 4/3, how high is the kite from the ground?

Length of the string = 180 m

Height of the building = 10 m

Given : tan O = 4/3

 

Let the kite is at a distance of "x" m from the building

Total distance from from ground to the kite is (x + 10)

Sin A = 4/5 = x/180

x = 144 m

Total height = 144 + 10 = 154 m
