Problema Solution
(b) A chemist has one solution that is 60% acid (rest is water) and another solution which consist of 80% acid. The chemist’s requirement is to prepare 300 liters of solution that is 70% acid. The chemist will prepare it by mixing two solutions on hand. How much of each should be used?
Answer provided by our tutors
150 litres of 60% solution and 150 litres of 80 % solution is needed to make 300 litres of 70%
hence equal amounts will cause 60+80)/2 = 70
