Judith and Danya leave their house and travel in the same direction. Danya's speed per mile is 1 mile per hour more than two times Judith's speed. After 3 hours Danya is 15 miles ahead of Judith. Find their speeds.

Let Judith's speed be x miles / hr
Therefore,
Danya's Speed = 2x+1
Therefore,
Distance covered by Judith in 3hr = 3x
and Distance covered by Danya in 3 hours = 3(2x+1) = 6x+3
According to the given problem
6x+3-3x = 15
or, 3x + 3 = 15
or, 3x = 15-3 = 12
or, x = 12/3 = 4
Therefore,
Judith speed is 4 miles /hr
and Danya's speed is (4x2+1) = 9 miles /hr
