Problema Solution

1. A man has a body mass of mkg.he is 30kg heavier than each of his twin children express the body mass of each child in terms of m if the mass of the father and children comes to 156kg find the mass of the father

Answer provided by our tutors

mass of the father: m

and he is 30kg heavier than each child so that is:

                     m= 30kg + mass of each child

therefore        mass of each child= m - 30kg

Now, if the m plus the mass the twins totals to 156kg, then:

                  156kg = m + 2(mass of each child)

                  156kg = m + 2(m - 30kg)

                  156kg = m + 2m -60kg

                  156kg = 3m -60kg

       60kg + 156kg = 3m

                  216kg = 3m

               216kg/3 = 3m/3

                        m = 72
