Problema Solution
Sharon Parker bought 20 yards of material to make curtains. She used 4 ½ yards for one bedroom window, 8 and 3/5 yards for another window, and 3 and 7/8 yards for a hall window. How much material did she have left?

4 1/2 yards used to make curtains: 4 * 1/2 = 9/2 = 4.5 yards used
8 3/5 yards used for another window = 8*3/5 = 43/5 = 8.6 yards used
3 7/8 yards used for hall window = 3*7/8 = 31/8 = 3.875 or 3.9 yards used
20 - 4.5 - 8.6 - 3.9 = 3 yards of material left over.
