The second plan has an initial fee of $55.98 and costs an additional $0.12 per mile driven. How many miles would Lena need to drive for the two plans to cost the same?

Solution:

We assume that X miles will make  the two plans to cost the same

49.98+0.16X= 55.98+0.12X

X=150

so 150 miles will make  the two plans to cost the same.
