Problema Solution
John's Tree service charges $45 to come to your property and they charge an hourly rate for work on your property. I also know that they worked at my friends property for 12 hours and the total cost was $825. Use your equation to find how much would it cost if they work on your property for 20 hours? Determine the number of hours worked if the cost was $1800.
Answer provided by our tutors
So the initial cost is $45, and let us make "x" the hourly cost.
45+12x=825. As in the solution in the previous question,
x=65 dollars.
For the first question, find out how much it would be for 20 hours.
45+20(65)=x.
1345=x.
S if they worked on your property for 20 hours, the cost would be 1345 dollars.
For the second question, determine the number of hours worked if the cost was 1800.
So:
45+65x=1800.
65x=1755
x=27.
So if the total cost was $1800, then they worked for 27 hours.
