Sally can paint a room in 5 hours while it takes Steve 3 hours to paint the same room. How long would it take them to paint the room if they worked together?

Time for sally to paint the room=5hrs
=) in 1 hr she does 1/5th of the work...
similarly
Time for sally to paint the room= 3hrs
=) in 1 hr she does 1/3th of the work...
SO accrding to question if they work together,
work done in 1 hr=1/5+1/3=8/15...
=)8x/15=1
=)x=15/8hrs where x= no of hrs
