At a baseball game, a vender sold a combined total of 153 sodas and hot dogs. The number of hot dogs sold was 35 less than the number of sodas sold. Find the number of sodas sold and the number of hot dogs sold.

x + y =153 (1)
x = y + 35
=> y + y + 35 = 153 (subtitute to (1) )
2y = 153 - 35 = 118
y = 118/2 = 59
x = 59 + 35 = 94
