The Boy Scout troop earned $25 by recycling a total of 330 beverage containers. The recycling rates are 4€ per small capacity container and 14€ per large capacity container. How many of the small capacity containers and how many of the large capacity containers did they recycle?

Use the following equation:
.14x+.04y=25
The value for x is the large container number and the value for y is the small.
The resulting number of small containers come out to be 212.
This means that the large container number was 118.
To check use the equation above.
0.14(118) + 0.04(212) = 25
16.52 + 8.48 = 25
