a rectangular strip of aluminum, 30 cm long and 10 cm wide, is rolled into the form of a cylinder. Which would have a greater volume, a cylinder 10 cm high with a circumference of 30 cm or a cylinder 30 cm high with a circumference of 10 cm?

Solution:

V1 = 30^2/(4pi)*10 = 9000/4pi

V2 = 10^2/(4pi)*30 = 3000/4pi

V1>V2

So  cylinder 10 cm high with a circumference of 30 cm would have a greater volume
