Problema Solution
A banner shaped like a right triangle has a hypotenuse of 26 feet and a leg of 10 feet. What is the area of the banner? What information is needed to find the area of a triangle? How can you find the length of the other leg?

To find area of triangle, we need length of both legs i.e. base and perpendicular.
We can find the length of other leg by pythagorous theorem.
By pythagorous theorem,
H^2 = P^2 + B^2
H = 26, P = 10,
B = sqrt (26^2 - 10^2) = sqrt(676-100) = sqrt(576) = 24.
Area of banner = (1/2) * Base * Perpendicular = 1/2 * B * P = 1/2 * 10 * 24 = 120 sq feet
