let speed of B = x

=> x = 300/t

=> t = 300/x

speed of A = x + 14

=> x+14 = 400/t

=> t = 400/(x+14)

=> 300/x = 400/(x+14)

=> 3x + 42 = 4x

=> x = 42 miles/hr

speed of B = 42 miles/hr

speed of A = 56 miles/hr
