Problema Solution

A person does a bungee jump. The cord reaches it's full extension; the person bounces up and then stretches the cord again. The time for a bungee cord with a mass (person) attached to it to moves up from it's full extension and back down to the full extension (one full bounce) is approximated by:

T = 2π√M/K

Where T is the time in seconds, M is the mass of the person in kilograms, and K is the constant of the spring in the bungee cord in Newtons per meter.

A person has a mass of 63kg and the cord has a constant of 60N/m.

Determine T in simplest form.

t = 2 * 63 / 60 = 63 / 30 = 2.1 sec
