Problema Solution
find the equation of the perpendicular bisector of the line segment with endpoints (-5,5) and (-1,-3)
Answer provided by our tutors
To find the solution you must first find the slope of the line by using M=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
M= (-3)-(5)/(-1)-(-5)
M= -8/4
M=-2
Therefore slope is -2
Now that we have the slope we must find the y intercept by using the formula y=mx+b
Y=mx+b
@x=-5 @y=5 @M=-2
5=(-2)(-5)+b
5=10+b
-5=b
Therefore Y intercept is -5
Therefore Solution is Y=-2x-5
