Problema Solution
A train covers a distance of 60km at a constant speed. One day, due to bad weather, the train has to travel 10km/h slower and the journey takes 30 minutes longer. Determine the normal speed of the train.
Answer provided by our tutors
Let the normal speed be x.
So the equation would be
60/(x -10) - 60/x = 1/2
x2 - 10x -1200 = 0
x =40km/h
