Problema Solution

MS Computer Shop has two computer centers, Center 1 and Center 2. In Center 1, the computer units are being leased out for games and in Center 2 for typing and Internet use. The rental for using one particular day, when the store operated for 10 hours, the shop earned a total rental fee of p 12 000. a) If Center 1 has 4 units more than Center 2, how many units are there in each center? b) How much rental fee did each center receive that particular day?

there really is insufficient information to solve this problem... there needs to be some clue as how the cost of renting for games compares to renting for typing and internet use

let 'x' represent the number of units in center 2, then 'x+4' represents the number of units in center 1

let 'd' represent the cost per hour of using a computer in center 1 and let 'e' represent the cost per hour of using a computer in center 2

we could next assume that every unit was rented out for every hour during the entire 10 hour period, although the problem statement should clearly specify this

if sufficient information were provided, we could then solve this equation:

12000 = x10d + (x+4)10e

knowing 'd' and 'e' we could solve the above equation, otherwise nothing further can be reasonably be accomplished
