Milk is sold in either 600ml or 1L cartons. A supermarket manager ordered 79.8 litres of milk and recieved 93 cartons. How many of each size carton did the manager recieve?

let 'x' represent the number of 600ml cartons received, then '93-x' represents the number of 1L cartons received
600ml = 0.6L
79.8 = 0.6x + 1(93-x)
solving for 'x' we have x=33
93-33 = 60
the manager received 33 600ml cartons and 60 1L cartons
