60 gallons of 50% solutions Of glycerin and water that is 0.5*60 = 30 gallons water and 0.5*60 = 30 glycerin
If we add x gallons water the total volume of the solution will be 60 + x gallons and the % of glycerin will be 12% = 0.12 that is
30 / (60+x) = 0.12 (amount of glycierin / total amount of liquid = 12% glycerin solution)
By solving 30 / (60+x) = 0.12 we find
x = 240 gallons
