Problema Solution

If a train travels at 80 mph for 15 minutes, what is the distance traveled?

Answer provided by our tutors

by the definition for speed

speed = distance traveled / the time of the travel

that is v = d/t where v is speed, d is distance and t is time

that's why for the distance we have d = v*t

in our case v = 80 mph, t = 15 min = 15/60 hours = 1/4 hours

d = 80*(1/4) = 20 miles

the distance traveled is 20 miles.
