In order to solve this question, we must assume that the petting area is in rectangular form. Let w and l stand for the width and length of the petting area. We will use two equations to set up this problem.
Perimeter=2w+2l
Area=wl
Plugging in what we were given, we get:
170=2w+2l

l=50 m
w=35 m
