Problema Solution
elna says the first set of blocks represents 2/3, the second set of b locks represent 3/7. elena claims that her diagram proves that 3/7 is larger than 2/3. we know that elena is wrong in her conclusion. but how would you explain to her, in plain english, and without referring to the LCD

we assume the "first set of blocks" means that a portion of the entire set of blocks was removed, followed by removal of a portion that was equal to 3/7
since the first set removed was more than half of all of the blocks, there is no way to remove any segment of blocks larger than the first set (2/3), therefore 3/7 must be smaller than 2/3
