P = 180 in and P is the perimeter P = 2*( l + w)
the length is 18 inches more than the width
l = w + 18
if we substitute in the perimeter formula we get
2*(w + 18 + w) = 180
2w + 18 = 180/2
w = 72/2
w = 36 in
l = w +18 = 36 + 18
l = 54 in
the length of the table is 54 in.
the width of the table is 36 in.
