The perimeter of an isosceles right triangle is 8+8(sqrt2). Find the length of the hypotenuse.
Let s be the side. then hypotenuse =sqrt2 *s.
Perimeter P=s+s+sqrt2 *s
=s(2+sqrt2 )=8+8(sqrt2).
s=(8+8(sqrt2))/(2+sqrt2).
=5.66.
hypotenuse =sqrt2 *s
=1.414*5.66
=8 m.
