rate = the miles he passed / time it took him
v = (465 - 155)/2.5
v = 124 mph
he has another 155 miles left to pass
the time needed to pass the rest of the trip, that is 155 miles, is 155/124 = 1.25 hours
the entire trip will last
2.5 + 1.25 = 3.75 hours = 3 hours 45 min
the entire trip will take 3 hours and 45 min.
