the library iss 2 1/4 miles farther from jack's house than the school is. The school is 5/8 mile away. How far does jack live from the library?

5/8ths of a mile is .625 of a mile. It is easier to do this question with decimal points for me!
The library is 2.25 of a mile past the school.
Distance= (distance to school) + (distance to libary)
Distance= 2.25 + .625
Distance= 2.875 miles
