50 from B, and $50 from C..then she buy the old car prices $97..so there is $3 left.from $3, then she pay $1 to A, $1 to B, and $1 for her self.so, A has indebted left $49 to A, and $49 to B..right???but when she counts again, $49 (A) + $49(B)+ $1(that she took) = $99 .. but it should be $100 right??? but how come $99?? so where is another $1??
Answer provided by our tutors
she took 50 from B and 50 from C that is total of 100
if she gives back $1 each then she will owe 49 each = the cost of the old car 97 plus the 1$ she has
49 + 49 = 97 + 1
if we add 1 on both sides we have exactly
49 + 49 + 1 = 97 + 1 + 1
99 = 99
that is the state "it should be $100" is false.
