night 1: 4 - 2 = 2 ft
day 2: 2 + 4 = 6
night 2: 6 - 4 = 4
day 3: 4 + 4 = 8
night 3: 8 - 2 = 6
day 4: 6 + 4 = 10
night 4: 10 - 2 = 8
day 5: 8 + 4 =12
night 5: 12 - 2 = 10
day 6: 10 + 4 = 14
night 6: 14 - 2 = 12
day 7: 12 + 4 = 16
night 7: 16 - 2 = 14
