this problem requires a good drawing. since we still dont have an option to draw i will provide the results only:

the radius of the circular base of the cone is: r = 15 + 2^0.5

to get this result we use the sin(45) and cos(45) as well as similar triangles

the circumference of the base of the cone is: C = 2*pi*(15 + 2^0.5)

the slant height is: s = 15*(2^0.5) + 2

the weather surface is: A = (1/2)s*C

A = (1/2)*(15*(2^0.5) + 2)(2*pi*(15 + 2^0.5))

A = (1/2)*(15*(2^0.5) + 2)(2*3.14*(15 + 2^0.5))

A = 1194.42314 ft^2
