Let x be the common factor of the two numbers. Thus the numbers are 8x and 5x.
Given that 8x+10 : 5x+10 = 7:5
or, 5(8x+10)=7(5x+10)
or, 5x=20
or, x=4.
Thus the original numbers are 32 and 20.
