Problema Solution

Y = -x-3. The rate of change is changed to-1/2, what will happen to the graph of the equation?

Answer provided by our tutors

For a linear function that rate of change is usually called the slope.

for Y = -x-3 the slope m = -1

if m is changed to -1/2 the function will be

y = (-1/2)x - 3

you will notice that the angle between the first function and the x-xis is bigger then the angle of the second function and the x-axis
