So

2/y = 2/x - 2/60 divide both sides by 2
1/y = 1/x - 1/30
2/y - 2/(x+2) = 2/60 divide both sides by 2
1/y - 1/(x+2) = 1/30
plug 1/y = 1/x - 1/30 int the last equation
1/x - 1/30 - 1/(x+2) = 1/30
1/x - 1/(x+2) = 2/30
