Problema Solution
a hairdresser is deciding where to open her new studio. if the hairdresser chooses location a she will pay 1200 per month in rent and will charge $45 per haircut. if she chooses location b she will pay 1800 per month in rent and will charge $60 per haircut. how many haircuts would she have to give in one month to make the same profit at each location.
Answer provided by our tutors
let x = the number of haircuts
Location A profit: 45x - 1200
Location B profit: 60x - 1800
lets assume the profit is the same for each location
45x - 1200 = 60x - 1800
by solving we find
x = 40 haircuts

indeed for 40 haircuts:
Location A profit will be: 40*45 - 1200 = $600
Location B profit will be: 40*60 - 1800 = $600
