t2 = 10 hr the time of the return trip upstream (against the current)

the canoe's speed upstream: v - c


since speed = distance/time => distance = speed*time


traveling downstream


(v + c)4 = 6


v + c = 6/4


traveling upstream


(v - c)10 = 6


v - c = 6/10


by solving the system of equations


v + c = 6/4

v - c = 6/10
