we assume the ball is rolling exactly horizontal, with no downward component of velocity; the initial vertical velocity as the ball leaves the table is therefore zero
the time taken to fall 1.4 meters is therefore the time it takes the ball to free-fall 1.4 meters:
t = sqrt(2*(1.4m)/9.8 m/s) = 0.5345
it takes the ball approximately 0.53 seconds to reach the ground
