each tiger has 2 ears, 2 eyes, 4 paws and 1 tail of a total of 2 + 2 + 4 + 1 = 9
each lion has 4 paws
let l = the number of lions and t = the number of tigers
9t = 4l
if one side of the equation is dividable by 9 then the other side must be also dividable by 9.
the same goes for 4, that is why we can say:
t must be a multiple of 4
l must be a multiple of 9
