Answer provided by our tutors

let

x = the number of rooms in ship one

y = the number of rooms in ship two

z = the number of rooms in ship three

I have three ship they have a total of 746 rooms

x + y + z = 746

ship one has 24 more rooms than ship two

x = 24 + y

ship three has 38 fewer than three times as ship two

z = 3y - 38

by solving the system of equations

x + y + z = 746

x = 24 + y

z = 3y - 38

we find

x = 176 rooms

y = 152 rooms

z = 418 rooms
