Problema Solution

what is the minimum length(L)and width(W),in meters ,of a box that can contain an obect 56 cm wide and 843mm long?

Answer provided by our tutors

Width of object = 56cm

lenght of object = 843 mm = 84.3 cm

the maximum length in a box is the diagonal so we get

the diagonal should be = 84.3

and this is minimum when it is a square

=> Length (L) = Width (W) = 84.3/square root(2) = 59.60 cm

=> Length (L) = Width (W) = 0.596 meters
